Time collapses

Time collapses in the blink of any eye leaving only fragments.

Years pass between seeing some and it's like they've aged before your eyes. I am not even familiar with that face in the mirror. The older we get the fewer brain snapshots taken and like a movie film with missing frames, time seems to accelerate.

Sometimes I stare monotonously at a moment just to reset my bearings, for time leaves us all behind and marches ever on.

We can't hold back the ocean but we can live here and now, one foot in front of the other, one day after another, until our time is done.

Time is not the keeper of dead men, for they are forever free in anonymity.
